SafisAI Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 10, 2026

Local by default. Minimal by design.

SafisAI is designed to inspect pages locally in your browser so you can better understand when AI-related signals may be present. We do not run user accounts, analytics, advertising, or remote data collection for the extension itself.

Short version: SafisAI does not send page text, prompts, form contents, conversation contents, or browsing history to our servers because SafisAI does not operate any servers for detection.

How SafisAI describes findings

SafisAI uses evidence labels so the extension does not overstate what it knows.

What SafisAI reads

SafisAI may inspect page structure and selected page content such as visible text, accessibility labels, script sources, inline script patterns, form targets, image URLs, and UI elements related to AI workflows. This inspection happens locally in the browser.

To ensure transparency on modern sites, SafisAI inspects publicly accessible elements within open Shadow DOMs. It does not access private or system-level data.

SafisAI identifies active security risks, such as the simultaneous presence of AI agents and third-party session recording tools, to help you understand when your prompt data may be captured by external services.

SafisAI is designed to detect product behavior and disclosures, not to collect or transmit your personal data.

What SafisAI does not collect

SafisAI does not collect your prompts, passwords, cookies, payment data, contacts, or browsing history for our own use. SafisAI does not maintain cloud accounts, user profiles, analytics dashboards, or remote logs for extension usage.

Image provenance checks

On some pages, SafisAI may fetch image files that are already referenced by the page in order to inspect provenance metadata such as C2PA markers. These checks are performed locally, with no credentials attached, and the results are used only to determine whether provenance metadata is present.

SafisAI does not upload those images to our servers or send the results of that inspection to a remote backend. We don't have servers.

AI image detection is best-effort and incomplete. The state of the web in this area is rough: most AI-generated images do not ship C2PA provenance, do not carry AI labels in their alt text or captions, and are re-hosted on generic CDNs after creation. SafisAI combines known AI CDN patterns, explicit AI labels, C2PA manifests, and alt text that looks like a generation prompt — but it will miss plenty, and it may occasionally surface a false positive on stock-style imagery whose alt text happens to resemble a prompt. Treat image findings as informational, not authoritative.

Local storage

SafisAI stores detection state in chrome.storage.local so the popup can display results for the current tab. That storage stays on your device and is not shared with SafisAI remotely.

Tab-specific state is intended to be cleared when the tab is closed or reloaded, although Chrome may temporarily retain local extension storage until the extension updates it or removes it.

Permissions

SafisAI does not request sign-in, advertising, or background tracking permissions.

Third-party services

SafisAI does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting, or remote telemetry for the extension itself. Any third-party services mentioned by SafisAI are services detected on the page you are visiting, not services used by SafisAI.

Policy changes

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will ship with the extension and the date above will be updated. We do not intend to introduce data collection quietly.

Found a bug? Misfire? Other feedback?

SafisAI is being actively developed and we know detection on the open web is an unfinished problem. If you spot a false positive, a missed AI surface, a broken page, or anything else worth telling us, please visit safisai.com to report it. Every report helps us tighten the detection.
